WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company
(NYSE: RTN) announced today the appointment of Randa G. Newsome, age 49, to vice president
Human Resources and Global Security, effective January 1, 2015.
Newsome has 20 years of experience in human resources,
organizational performance management and security operations. She
joined the company in 2001 and was most recently vice president for
Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business, overseeing
all human resources and security operations for a global workforce
of over 14,000.
Prior to her role at IDS, Newsome was vice president of Human
Resources and Security for the former Raytheon Technical Services
Company beginning in 2009, where she set human resource and
security strategy for the $3.2
billion government services business to ensure support for
the globally-deployed workforce. Newsome was also director of
Organization Performance and Talent Management for Raytheon
Intelligence and Information Systems, responsible for
organizational effectiveness, talent management, talent
acquisition, learning, compliance, and mergers and
acquisitions.
Newsome earned a master's degree in public administration with
emphasis in human resources management from Valdosta State University and a bachelor's degree
in communications from Florida State
University.
Newsome will succeed Keith Peden,
senior vice president human resources and global security, who will
retire effective January 31, 2015.
Peden joined Raytheon in 1993 as director of benefits, compensation
and human resource management systems and in 1997 assumed the role
of vice president and deputy director of human resources. For the
past thirteen years, he has provided leadership for the company's
Human Resources and Global Security organization and guided the
creation and deployment of contemporary human resources and
security practices.
