Dr. Kowlgi is an experienced entrepreneurial scientist specializing in analytical and physical chemistry with inventions and commercialized technologies in catalysts, engineered chemicals, colloids, fuel cells, material sciences, nanotechnologies, polymers and self-assembly.

Prior to joining Quantum Materials, Dr. Kowlgi was a Research Engineer at Xelvin Zuid BV, driving the synthesis of semiconductor quantum dots in continuous-flow reactors. Prior to Xelvin, Dr. Kowlgi served as Director of Technology at Minus9 BV, scaling up production of carbon nanonetworks via fixed-bed chemical vapor deposition, drastically reducing costs; engineered synthesized polymers with enhanced electrical conductivity, mechanical strength and thermal conductivity; created electrically conductive aerospace coatings, high capacity hydrogen storage cell electrodes, light emitting diodes with improved heat dissipation, high thermally conductive satellite solar panels and more efficient water filters. Dr. Kowlgi earned a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, a Master of Science in Applied Polymer Science from Martin Luther University, Germany and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Technology from Delhi Technological University in India.
