SMITHS FALLS, ON, Oct. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Tweed Marijuana Inc.
(Tweed) is pleased to announce that John K. Bell FCPA, FCA, ICD.D,
is joining the organization as the most recent addition to the
Company's Board of Directors.
John brings a wealth of experience across a number of industries
with links to the Tweed business model. Currently the
Principal at Onbelay Investment Corporation, John has also held
executive and corporate leadership roles at DelMar Pharmaceuticals,
Shred-Tech, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, the Waterloo Regional Police
Commission, and many others.
"The first thing I noticed at Tweed was the infectious corporate
culture. It is an exciting time for this industry and I think my
experience successfully growing Canadian companies is going to be
an asset to this group, who are already doing great things," Bell
said.
John founded Shred-Tech and grew it into a global giant in the
mobile document shredding and recycling industry. After
selling Shred-Tech in 1995, he purchased Polymer Technologies and
grew it from a local plastics manufacturer to a global auto parts
company before exiting in 2007. John also served as interim CEO and
director of ATS Automation (TSX), which operates 24 global
manufacturing facilities, has 4,000 employees and $700 million in sales during a time of management
and board renewal in 2007. John was the lead investor and Chairman
of BSM Wireless (TSX-V). First investing in 2006 he led board and
management renewal leading to substantial and profitable growth
before successfully exiting in 2014.
"John has significant experience and perspective on scaling up
businesses," said Bruce Linton, the
Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Tweed. "He has a strong track
record of success and together we're going to drive Tweed
forward."
Tweed continues to position itself at the forefront of the

time when Tweed is preparing to release the largest crop it has
ever harvested.
