Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (“Nexstar”) announced today
that its three local television stations will provide Iowa voters
broadcast coverage of the one hour debate between U.S. Senate
candidates, Joni Ernst (GOP) and current U.S. Representative, Bruce
Braley (D) on October 16, 2014. Ernst and Braley are competing for
the Iowa Senate seat that will be left vacant when long-time
Senator Tom Harkin (D) retires after this term.
The debate, which takes place in the Eppley Auditorium of
Morningside College in Sioux City, will be conducted as a round
table discussion before a live audience at 7:00 p.m. CT on October
16, 2014. It will be carried live on Nexstar’s ABC affiliates,
KCAU-TV in Sioux City and WOI-TV in Des Moines. A
live stream of the debate can also be accessed by visiting the
stations’ community web portals www.SiouxlandMatters.com,
