Platform Reach Expands to Millions with
Integration of Reminder Function
Viggle Inc. (NASDAQ:VGGL), the entertainment marketing and
rewards platform that includes the Viggle, NextGuide and Wetpaint
brands, today announced the integration of its reminder
functionality on the world’s largest online trailer service,
Internet Video Archive (IVA). Launching today, the Reminder widget
will be embedded across the popular VideoDetective.com website and
the VideoDetective free player, which is distributed to over 200
online publishers. The widget will enable users to sign up for
reminders when a movie or TV program has new previews or video
clips, and when it airs on linear TV or becomes available on
subscription VOD services.
The Reminder widget, launched in Fall 2013 with four major
partners, is now integrated with more than 100 shows from 15
leading TV networks and producers. According to a May 2014 survey
of Reminder users, approximately 47 percent of respondents reported
that, “Reminders lead me to turn on the television when I would
have been doing something else.” Additionally, 37 percent of
respondents revealed that when a Reminder is set for a show they
often set additional reminders for other shows on the same network
or website.
“We are excited to partner with Internet Video Archive and
provide their users with our simple, easy to use reminder service
for upcoming Movies and TV shows,” said Greg Consiglio, president
and COO of Viggle Inc. “The entertainment landscape is cluttered,
vast and fragmented, so we want to provide turnkey services,
available to consumers and content creators, that make it easy for
audiences to be connected to the programs they want to watch and
vice versa.”
“After consumers view trailers as an essential part of deciding
what movie and TV programs they want to view, Viggle provides the
information on where to watch it. We think our fans will also
appreciate getting notifications when new previews are available
too,” said Rhodes Mason, SVP of Business Development of Internet
Video Archive, LLC. “Implementing the Viggle widget was simple and
other sites would benefit from adding this feature.”
IVA users who set reminders will get the added benefit of
getting registered to the Viggle Platform, which will allow them to
earn Viggle Points and rewards when they check-in to their programs
with the free Viggle app. These users will also earn Viggle Points
for matching music with the app.
Viggle Inc.’s platform consists of the Viggle app, which offers
rewards for watching TV, advertisements or listening to music;
NextGuide, a personalized TV programming guide and distributed
reminder platform; Wetpaint, an entertainment news and social
publishing platform; and Viggle Store, a rewards destination where
visitors can redeem Viggle Points for digital downloads. In July
2014, Viggle Inc. achieved a total reach of 22.5 million. Total
reach is the total of registered users for the Viggle app and
monthly unique users of the Wetpaint media properties.
