expertise to meet any need in any work environment
NRG Energy Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Energy,
Inc. (NYSE:NRG), is strengthening its portfolio of customizable,
site-specific plant services available to plant owners and
operators by adding the Turbine Services Group, a non-union
workforce to complement the existing pool of represented
maintenance personnel. This group possesses extensive expertise in
fast-response, on-site maintenance and repair of gas and steam
turbines.
“Our Turbine Services Group increases the expertise, flexibility
and capability we bring to our customers to address any turbine
issue,” said Don Poe, President of NRG Energy Services. “Our goal
is to give plant owners and operators across the nation the same
quality and confidence in their operations and maintenance that we
have brought to NRG for many years. Between skilled technologists
to address a plant outage to the seasoned managers who plan,
schedule and oversee complex maintenance projects, we’re stepping
up our ability to meet and exceed the customer’s expectations and
boost plant performance.”
The team that makes up the Turbine Service Group is headed by
turbine expert Darron Pruitt. The group specializes in the
disassembly, inspection and repair of the entire line of GE gas
turbines, particularly the FA & EA models and also has
extensive experience with Siemens Westinghouse 501 series gas
turbines, along with small to medium sized steam turbines.
“This team has worked together for more than a decade and
collectively has over 250 man-years of experience building GE
turbines in South Carolina and maintaining turbines across the
nation. We take pride in our teamwork that has created a proven
record of success in the service we provide as well as the
partnership we form with the customer,” said Pruitt. “Combining our
turbine expertise with the extensive capabilities of NRG Energy
Services creates a one-stop shop for all plant maintenance
needs.”
NRG Energy Services takes an owner’s perspective to delivering
services that meet specific plant challenges at competitive rates,
giving owners more low-cost options to reduce downtime and increase
operational availability.
“With a team of nearly 90 experienced subject-matter experts, we
can provide 24/7 technical support for all plant services from gas
and steam turbines to boilers and control equipment,” added Poe.
“We provide expertise in quality control processes, project
management, bid specifications, planning and scheduling that can
keep plants operating smoothly and efficiently while keeping costs
to a minimum when possible.”
