“Samsung’s Gear VR headset is the latest example of the imminent
Consumer Virtual Reality explosion, the visual display however is
only one component in creating a complete VR experience. A 360
immersive audio headset is critical to complement the visual
display and Next Galaxy is delighted to bring this technology to
the market with Ceekars™,” commented Mary Spio, President of Next
Galaxy Corp. “Content is the other part of the equation, for which
we are developing Ceek as the world’s first VR entertainment and
education hub. With our technology and content, we are stepping in
and filling the gaps in the Consumer Virtual Reality marketplace,
positioning Next Galaxy to be a major driver in the mainstream
adoption of Consumer Virtual Reality.”
Our content creation process paired with Ceekars™ allows us to
localize audio to the user’s ear; adding depth (up or down, etc.)
and perspective (far or near), enabling consumers to envelope
themselves in and naturally interact with 360-degree virtual
soundscapes. In the case of a virtual concert, if a user is near
the stage, what they hear is different than what they hear at the
back of the room, a feature that is imperative to create the most
realistic virtual experiences. As a user “walks” towards the crowd,
the roar of the crowd gets louder. Further, Ceekars™ pick up a
range of frequencies that traditional headphones miss, delivering
accurate directional cues and enhanced audio resulting in
compelling sound that creates a feeling of actually being at a
venue.
A complete package, Next Galaxy’s VR audio headset features a
haptic system that provides vibration, other tactile feedback is
further being developed to recreate the sense of touching objects,
such as an alligator’s skin or feeling the interior of a car.
Ceekars™ come with a highly intuitive controller for use in wholly
immersive environments where users cannot see their hands or
keyboard. Ceekars™ also has a microphone for voice-activated
commands and for communication with other users in social
environments. Ceekars™ can be used as a standalone headphone for
audio experiences beyond the best digital standards on the market
today. Additional Ceekars Images and Video are available at
