OAK BROOK, Ill., Aug. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In its second year as the official restaurant sponsor of the NFL, McDonald's is celebrating football fans' love for the game with a new mindset of tailgating and exclusive football content and prizes for customers.

To help fans get into the spirit, McDonald's is launching the national McDonald's Tailgate Photo Sweepstakes. Participants have a chance to win the ultimate McDonald's tailgate experience, the grand prize they'll never forget in their hometown, with the McDonald's mobile restaurant rolling up with enough food for 200 friends, family members and neighbors.

"We know football fans' passion extends beyond gameday and traditional tailgating in stadium parking lots," said Dean Barrett, senior vice president, global relationship officer, McDonald's Corp. "We're channeling this excitement into a new mindset of tailgating with McDonald's food that celebrates and rewards NFL and McDonald's fans anytime, anywhere this football season – whether they're gearing up for kickoff at their home or on-the-go."

McDonald's customers can use QR codes on McDonald's medium beverages with NFL-themed packaging to access exclusive NFL Now video content. Customers can also use QR codes on McDonald's medium fries to access the McDonald's Pick The Play Sweepstakes and enter for the chance to win NFL-related prizes – including a trip for two to Super Bowl® XLIX in Arizona.

"As everyone gets back to football, we're looking forward to working with McDonald's to bring fans closer to the game they love through unique programs and our new personalized digital video service, NFL Now," said Renie Anderson, NFL senior vice president of sponsorship and partnership management.
