Among the companies with shares expected to actively trade in Friday's session are Xerox Corp. (XRX), Moody's Corp. (MCO) and AbbVie Inc. (ABBV).

Xerox said its second-quarter earnings slipped as revenue from the company's document-technology business continued to decline. The company lifted the lower end of its adjusted per-share earnings outlook range for the year by 2 cents. Shares dropped 1.9% to $12.60 in premarket trading.

Moody's said its second-quarter profit and revenue surged, beating analysts' expectations. The company also raised its full-year revenue guidance. Shares rose 1.6% to $94 premarket.

AbbVie said its second-quarter earnings rose as strong global sales of its rheumatoid-arthritis drug Humira continued to boost results. Shares were up 1% to $54.65 premarket.

Tyco International Ltd. (TYC) said its fiscal third-quarter profit surged as revenue grew and the company said it benefited from acquisitions. Shares edged up 0.4% to $45 premarket.

Stanley Black & Decker Inc. (SWK) said its second-quarter profit rose 16%, as the company slightly increased sales while trimming costs. The company increased its full-year outlook for adjusted earnings per share. Shares gained 1.4% to $86.21 premarket.

American Electric Power (AEP) said its second-quarter profit rose 15% as revenue increased on rate-base growth and rising sales in its transmission business. Shares rose slightly to $54.23 premarket.

LifePoint Hospitals Inc. (LPNT) said its second-quarter earnings jumped, leading the rural hospital operator to boost its outlook for the year amid benefits from the health-care reform law. Shares were inactive premarket.

LyondellBasel Industries NV (LYB) said its second-quarter earnings surged to a record level as revenue jumped 9.1%. Shares gained 3% to $105.46 premarket.

Lear Corp. (LEA) said its second-quarter profit rose 8% on sales growth in most of its geographies. The company boosted its full-year outlook for sales and operating earnings. Shares increased 3.4% to $99.05 premarket.

Magellan Health Inc. (MGLN) said its second-quarter profit dropped as growth in costs and expenses offset an increase in revenue. The company reaffirmed its full-year outlook. Shares were inactive premarket.

Flextronics International Ltd.'s (FLEX) first-quarter profit surged as the company reported higher sales across its four business groups, beating its projections.

Gentiva Health Services Inc. (GTIV) has signed a nondisclosure agreement with an unidentified bidder who has offered to buy it and said it may do the same with Kindred Healthcare Inc. (KND), if Kindred ends its partial tender offer for the company.

HomeAway Inc. (AWAY) second-quarter revenue results beat expectations and the vacation-home rental website operator raised its revenue projection for the current quarter and full year.

Lattice Semiconductor Corp. (LSCC) projected third-quarter revenue below analysts' expectations, which sent the chip maker's shares down despite turning in better-than-expected second-quarter results.

LogMeIn Inc. (LOGM) swung to a profit in the second quarter and the Hungarian startup, now based in Boston, offered fiscal projections for the year and current quarter that beat Wall Street projections.

Pandora Media Inc.'s (P) second-quarter loss widened as higher costs offset the Internet radio provider's continued revenue growth.

Principal Financial Group Inc.'s (PFG) second-quarter earnings rose 36% on stronger revenue and as the company posted net realized capital gains.

Republic Services Inc.'s (RSG) second-quarter earnings, excluding items, rose 16% as the waste-management and recycling company said revenue rose 5%.

Riverbed Technology Inc. (RVBD) swung to a second-quarter profit, largely due to revenue growth in its Asia-Pacific business and stronger margins.

Starbucks Corp.'s (SBUX) quarterly earnings rose 23% on stronger sales across its regions, along with improved transaction volumes and higher tickets.

Tempur Sealy International Inc.'s (TPX) second-quarter loss widened largely on costs associated to the disposal of three innerspring component facilities in the U.S. and its Sealy Corp. acquisition even as its Tempur North America business returned to growth.

Universal Health Services Inc.'s (UHS) second-quarter profit fell slightly, as operating charges offset a 10% increase in revenue.

Visa Inc.'s (V) fiscal third-quarter earnings rose 11%, helped by what it called "strong" global payments volume and processed transactions.
