Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) today marked the 25-year
anniversary of its Golf for Greenville charitable golf tournament
that has raised more than $3.5 million to assist local community
organizations.
Today’s event at Fluor’s Greenville, S.C., campus included
representatives from the local charitable organizations that have
benefitted from the golf tournament over the past 25 years along
with Fluor executives and local elected officials.
Golf for Greenville was developed and founded by Fluor employee
volunteers in 1989 with the first tournament held in 1990.
Countless volunteer hours go into organizing the tournament and
soliciting donations. Recently, Golf for Greenville events have had
overwhelming support from Fluor employees and suppliers and
frequently include sell-out tournaments. The record turnouts have
encouraged Fluor to raise its fundraising goals each year as
support continues to grow. The event is chaired and co-chaired by
Fluor professionals as a leadership enrichment opportunity for
those employees.
