VISTA, Calif., July 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eco Building Products, Inc., (PINK: ECOB), the manufacturer of Eco Red Shield™ treated wood products that protect against fire and mold, today announced that it has hired the governmental affairs firm of Gordon Thomas Honeywell Governmental Affairs (GTH-GA) to assist the company in pursuing opportunities with eligible entities under the $1 billion National Disaster Resilience Competition that was announced by President Obama earlier this month.

Under the program, grant funding is available through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery to states, units of general local government, Indian tribes and Insular areas that experienced a Presidentially-declared major disaster in 2011, 2012 or 2013. Among eligible activities under the program, grantees can use funding for housing and the rehabilitation of homes and buildings damaged in declared disasters.
