Airspan's AirSynergy 3000 Urban Small Cell Nominated for Small Cell Forum Industry Awards 2014, in Small Cell Innovation Leadership Category

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - May 29, 2014) - Airspan Networks Inc., a leading provider of 4G LTE RAN solutions, is pleased to announce that its new AirSynergy 3000 small cell has been shortlisted for the Small Cell Innovation Leadership award.

AirSynergy 3000 is a high performance LTE eNodeB urban small cell optimized for outdoor deployment in Heterogeneous Networks on non-traditional deployment locations (e.g. lamp posts, utility poles, rooftops). AirSynergy 3000 supports non-contiguous, triple or quad carrier, LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation in 1.x, 2.x and 3.x GHz bands, delivering end user service speeds of over 450 Mbit/s. In addition, AirSynergy 3000 has integrated Airspan's iBridge NLOS backhaul solution creating a self-contained LTE small cell system that radically reduces CAPEX and OPEX.

AirSynergy 3000 is an incremental development of Airspan's single and dual carrier AirSynergy LTE RAN solutions developed for carriers who have large, contiguous or non-contiguous, spectrum allocations, and want to deploy outdoor small cells to fill coverage gaps, massively increase network capacity and/or reduce the costs associated with traditional macro cell deployment. It is also ideal for small cell RAN sharing scenarios, where carriers combine individual spectrum allocations to deliver higher capacity using carrier aggregation, sharing small cell site costs and reducing operational rollout costs when compared with standalone networks.

"This nomination reinforces Airspan's leadership position in urban small cells for LTE-Advanced networks. The Small Cell Forum Industry Awards has established an enviable reputation based on their absolute impartiality and integrity, and to be nominated in this highly competitive category is a significant achievement," commented Eric Stonestrom, Airspan's President and Chief Executive Officer.

Airspan's AirSynergy products are ground breaking LTE urban small cells for outdoor and indoor Public Access deployments. Its compact design enables discrete deployment in various locations such as lampposts, telephone and power poles, building fronts and rooftops. Unique to the product is the capability for integrated wireless backhaul and the ability to self-configure, self-connect, self-heal and self-optimize when deployed as part of a Heterogeneous Network.

Airspan solutions address the needs of carriers, operators and industrial applications across the globe. Airspan products include indoor and outdoor LTE Pico cells, and outdoor, compact Micro and Macro base stations, a wide variety of user devices, and advanced core network products, providing 4G LTE connectivity solutions operating in bands from 700 MHz up to 6.4 GHz.
