With climate change remaining a hot topic, locations across the country are calling this time of year the "Spring Run", and in the west it's fire season; building the same old way with raw unprotected lumber is certain to change. http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/news/drought/Governor-prepares-for-worst-wildfire-season-259815411.html?mobile=y. ECOB continues to manufacture and distribute advanced framing lumber with protection against mold, wood-rot decay, termites and fire, further backed by a 10-Year Warranty. The Company also continues to supply a full line of defensive building products that slow ignition, flame spread, and protection buildings against rising tides. More importantly, ECOB's defensive products protect the building's wood fiber strength from termites and rot, which ultimately supports the lateral engineering loads necessary for high wind and ground movement activity. "At Eco, we don't need a building code to recognize that residential, wood-framed buildings need protection that raw lumber simply cannot provide. This is why we continue to raise the bar beyond the code with ECOB's advanced framing lumber, that up until now a sustainable solution was not available," stated Steve Conboy, President/CEO, Eco Building Products, Inc.

Blazer Industries is a modular builder that specializes in high use buildings such as schools, medical facilities, and government offices. "Typically, our buildings ship to locations throughout the continental U.S., as well as Alaska and Hawaii. Many of our buildings require special care in terms of termite, fire, and fungicidal treatment. Using the Eco Red Shield product allows us to provide the protection needed without compromising the quality of our buildings. Traditional pressure treating processes tends to produce a significant quantity of unusable lumber. Unusable material results in a loss of time, money, and precious wood fiber. For us, incorporating the Eco Red Shield product into our value stream has reduced our amount of culled lumber and eliminated delays due to high moisture content in the wood," stated Charlie Nichols, Blazer Industries. "Environmental stewardship and sustainability are important to all of us at Blazer Industries. As a LEED AP I am concerned with the type of raw materials we use in our buildings as well as the processes we incorporate. The Eco Red Shield treatment method is a good fit for us because it adds sustainability to our products with minimal impact on the environment. Additionally, with Eco Red Shield, we have better control of our material costs and production waste," added Nichols.

"At Eco, it's amazing to hear all the gossip from the so-called Industry experts; it reminds us of our government at times.  We don't need a government or code to motivate us [the private sector]; we motivate ourselves to provide residential, defensive, value-added protection against mold, fire ignition and termites that are destroying wood fiber strength. This Industry has done nothing to protect the whole-house from fire ignition, which should be a no-brainer, because a majority of the wooden components today are glued together, making the ignition time sometimes immeasurable. Furthermore, protection hasn't been provided against the termites eating roof rafters, shear walls or bearing posts," commented Conboy. Bill Moyer in a recent article said, "As these assets become more difficult to protect, insurers are starting to take their cases to the courts", and this was predicted by Eco's Steve Conboy years ago. http://billmoyers.com/2014/05/20/on-climate-change-big-oil-vs-the-insurance-industry/. "The hot topic of mold will really accelerate now with all the flooding, that up until now, was mitigated by sweeping it under the carpet and out of the media spotlight. It will be interesting to see what becomes more important in Washington - renewable energy or protecting American Homes from climate change," added Conboy.
