Alaska Communications Increases 4G LTE Coverage to Fairbanks

Company brings faster, more reliable coverage to Interior

Alaska Communications (NASDAQ:ALSK) wireless customers in Alaska’s Golden Heart City now have access to expanded 4G LTE coverage, with faster, more reliable data speeds due to network upgrades in Fairbanks.

“Alaskans do more and more on their phones, creating a need for more reliable coverage in more areas at the fastest speeds available, all on-the-go, and our network delivers,” Chris Reaburn, Alaska Communications general manager, wireless, said.

With more than 20 upgraded cell sites, Alaska Communications customers will experience 4G LTE speeds throughout much more of Fairbanks.

Our customers can now browse the Internet faster downtown, on campus at UAF, or while cross-country skiing at Birch Hill, all from the latest devices on Alaska’s largest wireless network,” Reaburn said.
