OTTAWA, April 25, 2014 /CNW/ - Tweed Marijuana Inc. (TSXV: TWD) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Don Gibbs as Chief Financial Officer effective as of April 30, 2014.

Mr. Gibbs has a long history with Canadian companies, starting his career with Leigh Instruments and then moving to Mitel Corporation for eight years as its CFO and COO. During this period Mitel was listed as a public company, was active on several stock exchanges, and grew in sales revenue to $250 million. Later Mr. Gibbs was appointed CFO of Cognos Inc. and held that position at the time of Cognos' initial public offering. This was followed by a position as President and CEO of Gandalf Systems Inc. He later founded Positron Fibre Systems Corporation by spinning it out of a private Montreal company. In three years Positron Fibre Systems went public on NASDAQ and was sold for US$250 million. From 2007 to 2008 Mr. Gibbs was Chairman and CEO of Tarquin Group Inc., a TSX Venture Exchange listed company, and most recently Mr. Gibbs served as President and CEO of AirIQ Inc., a TSX Venture Exchange listed company.

Mr. Gibbs replaces Gerald Leahy who joined the company as CFO in a part time capacity on closing of its recent qualifying transaction.
