Consolidated Communications Partners With Stream Data Centers
April 11 2014 - 9:11AM
Consolidated Communications today announced a partnership with
Stream Data Centers to offer business customers data storage,
disaster recovery and business continuity solutions in a
stand-alone, hardened, private facility located near Houston,
Texas. A national data center developer and operator, Stream Data
Centers completed construction of this purpose-built data center in
2013.
"We see a strong demand from our business customers in all
regions for enterprise quality data center space," said Ed Butler,
vice president of sales for Consolidated Communications. "This
partnership gives us a leading data center offering for
Houston-area businesses looking for a local solution and for
customers in other markets who are seeking a geographically diverse
option for their data needs."
The 74,901-square-foot data center includes three (3) Private
Data Center Suites™ and 30,000 square feet of raised floor data
center space. It is built with a 2N electrical / N+1 mechanical
configuration, delivering dual feed power from separate
substations, and has seven days of on-site fuel storage.
Consolidated Communications delivers a diverse, private fiber
conduit directly into the facility.
The Houston-area data center is located 70 miles from the Texas
coast in The Woodlands, outside of the 500-year floodplain and away
from railways and flight paths. It has been built to withstand
185-mph wind and uplift, and it has also been designed to achieve a
LEED Silver Certification.
The center also provides tenants with customizable maintenance
and operations programs for their own infrastructure within a
dedicated, fully independent Private Data Center Suite™. Each PDC
Suite has independent power and cooling infrastructure across
10,000 square feet of raised floor data center space. The PDC Suite
also provides tenants with redundant private telecommunications
rooms and a private utility yard. For detailed specifications,

"Our business products continue to be a strong driving force
behind the growth of Consolidated Communications," said Butler.
"Our success is due in large part to our ability to focus on the
unique needs of each customer and deliver customizable solutions
with exceptional reliability and customer support. This partnership
with Stream Data Centers adds a vital component to our business
services lineup."
In addition to its partnership with Stream Data Center in
Houston, TX area, Consolidated Communications owns and operates
equipment colocation and data centers in its other markets as well.
