BEIJING, March 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- New data released
by iResearch shows that Youku App, a mobile video application
developed by Youku Tudou Inc., China's leading internet television company,
was the third most popular mobile app behind WeChat and QQ in
February 2014 in terms of time users
spent on the mobile platform. Users of Youku App spent more than 44
billion minutes on the video application last month, according to
iResearch.
With more than 81 million unique visitors, Youku App ranked
eight out of the top 10 mobile apps with unique visitors in
February, according to iResearch. Youku App was the only mobile
video app to make the top 10 list.
Youku also came out ahead on mobile app startup sessions, a
measure of how many times a mobile app is opened. In February, the
Youku app saw 1.3 billion startups per week compared to the
following player's 827 million, according to iResearch. Youku also
bested the competition in terms of the time its users spent weekly
on the mobile platform. Youku app's users spent 11.9 billion
minutes per week on the application while users of the second place
holder spent 6.5 billion minutes on the application per
week.
Youku.com, the online video site of Youku, also continues to
lead. According to iResearch, the website had 34 percent more
average daily unique visitors than the second place company.
