Owens & Minor, Inc. (NYSE:OMI) announced that it has been
named to the “2014 World’s Most Admired Companies” list by FORTUNE
magazine. The annual “World’s Most Admired Companies” list measures
nine attributes related to financial performance and corporate
reputation and is based on company surveys and peer ratings. For
2014, Owens & Minor was ranked fourth in its category,
Healthcare Wholesalers.
“The selection of Owens & Minor as one of the world’s most
admired companies is a direct reflection of the dedication and
expertise of our teammates, who serve our healthcare provider and
manufacturer customers with great skill every day,” said Craig R.

“We are honored that Owens & Minor is included among the
prestigious companies on this year’s list.”
This elite list, referred to by FORTUNE as “the definitive
report card on corporate reputations,” is determined by an
extensive survey involving approximately 1,400 domestic and
international companies. To determine results, FORTUNE’s survey
partner, Hay Group, asked executives, directors, and analysts to
rate companies in their industry using nine criteria including:
investment value, retention of talented people, social
responsibility and other measurements. A company’s score must rank
in the top half of its industry survey to qualify for the list. Hay
Group then created 57 individual industry lists based on these
results.
