(OTCBB: NRTI), a leading developer of nutritional supplements, today announced the appointment of Dr. Michelle Sexton to its Scientific/Medical Advisory Board for guiding the formulation of the proprietary line of cannabidiol (CBD)-based nutritional supplements it is developing in partnership with Terra Tech Corp (OTCBB: TRTC).  The two companies announced the formation of the Scientific/Medical Advisory Board on March 5, 2014.

Dr. Sexton is a highly-respected expert in the medicinal applications of cannabis, naturopathic medicine and the phytochemistry of plant medicine, with more than 15 years of experience in natural, herbal and holistic medicine.  She currently serves as the Executive Medical Research Director at the Center for the Study of Cannabis and Social Policy in Seattle.  For the past several years, she owned and operated Phytalytics LLC, doing business as PhytaLab, a phytochemical analysis company dedicated to developing and perfecting analytical platforms for the quality control of medical and adult use cannabis and related products in Washington state. 

Dr. Sexton is the third prestigious member appointed to the Scientific/Medical Advisory Board to help guide the creation of new CBD-based nutritional supplement products.  She will work with the rest of the board and Inergetics' Chief Science Officer, Carl Germano, RD, CNS, CDN to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the new product line from both a clinical and scientific perspective.

Dr. Sexton is an active authority on medical cannabis, having published research in scientific journals, presented a number of abstracts on the medical application of cannabis and cannabinoids, particularly for patients with multiple sclerosis, provides continuing education for healthcare providers on the clinical use of cannabis/cannabinoids and serves as an expert witness for medical cannabis cases.  She is a member of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, the International Cannabinoid Research Society (ICRS), and the International Association for Cannabinoid Medicine (IACM). She is also on the board of directors for Americans for Safe Access Foundation.

Dr. Sexton earned her B.S. in Horticulture from Texas Tech University, graduating cum laude.  She received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington.
