An American hemp industry pioneer and VP of Product Development, Chris Boucher, was interviewed by Fox 5 News reporter Heather Ford. Boucher stated that the passing of the Agricultural Act of 2014 (known as the "Farm Bill"), portends an "agro-economic explosion" when it comes to industrial hemp in America. When Ford asked Boucher why some people consider hemp a "superfood," he answered: "There is no other plant in the plant kingdom that has the profile of hemp's omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids and protein. John Hicks III, MD addressed the recent news about parents using CBD to help with their children's seizures. He told Fox 5 viewers that, "Research shows several mechanisms to control seizures from glutamate release [to] calcium levels in cells. That's excitation [and] if you want to control that, you can start to calm things down and ought to be able to reduce the number of seizures." When asked about how CBD may help with eczema, Dr .Hicks explained, "CBD helps to heal that because it is an immune modulator and research shows it calms the immune system."
