Global Telesat Awarded Additional Asset Tracking and Mapping Order
by U.S. Premier Emergency Response Organization
Follow-On Multi-Year Services Order Illustrates Repeat Customer
Loyalty for Critical Tracking Services
KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL--(Marketwired - Feb 19, 2014) - Global
Telesat Corp. ("GTC"), a wholly owned subsidiary of World
Surveillance Group Inc. (OTCQB: WSGI), a developer of
lighter-than-air aerostats and unmanned aerial systems, has been
awarded a follow-on multi-year order to provide additional
satellite-based tracking and mapping services for the United
States' premier emergency response organization. The new order
resulted from GTC's proven performance under the original order
awarded in early 2012 and the organization's efficient streamlined
costs utilizing the improved GTCTrack portal.
The order requires GTC to provide specialized satellite tracking
devices, satellite airtime and online mapping capabilities as part
of a disaster preparedness and emergency relief program to locate
and monitor the movements of a variety of the organization's mobile
assets across the U.S. Utilizing a combination of GTC's online
mapping portal, GTCTrack (www.gtctrack.com), and the GPS and
Globalstar satellite networks, the tracking devices provided by GTC
will send one-way predefined messages with their respective GPS
locations and other information required by the customer to track
the beginning or end of the mobile asset's journey or its movement
out of a pre-authorized zone.
GTC's mapping portal, GTCTrack, enables the tracking devices to
be visually located and monitored by the customer in near real-time
from a PC or mobile device via a Google Maps™ interface in addition
to providing historic data showing past movements of the mobile
assets. GTCTrack enables the customer to monitor and remotely
control equipment, machinery and other assets, and locate the
position of and communicate with lone workers or personnel,
wherever they or such assets are located in the world. GTCTrack
offers customers geo-fencing capabilities and user alerts based on
numerous events such as excess speed, location changes, power on
and off, and start or finish of journey.
WSGI's President and CEO, Glenn D. Estrella, stated, "We are
excited to again be selected by the United States' premier
emergency response organization to provide GTC's specialized
satellite tracking and mapping services for such an important
application. This follow-on order clearly illustrates the
reliability and quality of GTC's tracking products and advanced
mapping capabilities even when used in the most demanding
situations."
