NovoFuel and Genport Capabilities Positioned to Take Advantage of New DoD Battlefield Power Initiatives

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - Dec 19, 2013) - Early production stage hydrogen generation company AlumiFuel Power Corporation (OTCQB: AFPW) (the "Company"), said that a recent Defense publication outlines new programs for battlefield power which are in the applications "sweet spot" of the Company's wholly owned subsidiary, NovoFuel, Inc., and Genport, srl of Italy.(See AFPW news release of December 6, 2013).

The November, 2013 issue of Tactical Defense Media.com featured a special article on DoD Power, Energy & Propulsion (http://www.tacticaldefensemedia.com/). In the article, Sharon Burke, Assistant Secretary of Defense, Operational Energy, listed three ways of assuring that forces have the necessary energy sources to improve warfighting capabilities: (1) Reduce the volume of fuel required in the field; (2) Diversify energy sources; (3) Build a continuous electricity supply to field platforms and missions.

In this light, the Department of Defense is looking at a number of new tactical power solutions, including Renewable Energy Sources and hybrid power generation. This encompasses portable fuel cells, combined with Lithium-ion batteries, solar cell panels, small wind turbines, and energy control modules, replacing or augmenting traditional diesel generators.

DoD programs embracing these new power and energy technologies offer exciting opportunities for NovoFuel and Genport. The requirements are an ideal match for Genport's current flagship prototype platform, the G300 Hybrid Power System - a modular 300-1,500 Watt fuel cell system that can take energy inputs from hydrogen, solar cells and lithium-ion battery packs, and deliver electricity for a variety of battlefield applications including telecommunications, PCs, battery charging, sensors, stationary micro-grids, and auxiliary power. NovoFuel's AlumiFuel hydrogen generation system provides a unique, superior source of hydrogen for Genport's hybrid fuel cells.

NovoFuel and Genport are well equipped to pursue these new opportunities with the appropriate DoD power and energy organizations. Moreover, Genport is well positioned with the European Defense Agency (EDA) and the EU Framework Program Horizon 2020, which are sponsoring a number of new alternative energy program initiatives, including smart microgrid applications and hybrid fuel cells. These activities fit hand-in-glove with the U.S. DoD initiatives.

About Genport, srl (www.genport.it) Genport srl is an advanced power solutions company based near Milan, Italy. Genport is focused on providing clean, safe, reliable and high performance portable power sources for medical, defense, emergency, telecommunications, and industrial applications. Genport's solutions are designed to store and generate electrical energy anytime, anywhere. Genport combines solid hydrogen PEM fuel cell, lithium ion battery and renewable energy systems to provide a constant, reliable source of power; maximize power and energy density; eliminate noise, emissions and operate in extreme environmental conditions. Genport/GNA's technology partners include Milan Polytechnic, VTT (Finland), Texas Instruments, Linear Technologies, Arbin Instruments, four European companies, and Purdue University.

About AlumiFuel Power Corporation AlumiFuel Power Corporation, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Novofuel, Inc., is an early production stage alternative energy company that generates hydrogen gas and heat through the chemical reaction of aluminum, water, and proprietary additives. This technology is ideally suited for multiple applications requiring on-site, on-demand fuel sources, serving National Security and commercial customers. The Company's hydrogen generation feeds fuel cells for backup and portable power, provides lift gas for weather balloons, and can replace costly, hard-to-handle and high pressure K-Cylinders. Its hydrogen/heat output is also being designed and developed to power fuel cell-based and turbine-based undersea propulsion and auxiliary power systems. The Company has significant differentiators in performance, adaptability, safety and cost-effectiveness in its target market applications, with no external power required and no toxic chemicals or by-products.
