International Star Provides Corporate Update
WILTON, CT--(Marketwired - Nov 19, 2013) - International Star,
Inc. (OTC Pink: ILST), is pleased to announce a Corporate
Update.
On October 30th and 31st, 2013, International Star, Inc.
appointed a new slate of Directors and Officers with the purpose of
moving the Van Demeen gold claim into production.
The new Board and Management Team is led by Michael Shea, CEO
& President, Howard Metzler, VP of Operations, Barbara Carroll,
VP of Project Development and Donnell J. Vigil, Corporate
Secretary.
Mr. Shea is a Wall Street veteran with over 30 years of finance
experience, as well as, 5 years of mining experience. Both Mr.
Metzler and Ms. Carroll have 30+ years of geological and mining
experience in addition to being long time registered geologist.
Mrs. Vigil has considerable legal experience and has extensive
knowledge with operating public companies.
Resigning as Directors and Officers are Virginia Shehee,
Sterling Redfern and Jackie Wine. Mr. Shea commented, "The new
management team wishes to thank the previous Directors/Officers for
their substantial contribution to International Star. Under their
leadership, the Van Demeen prospect was advanced to a state, where
the new team can move it into production."
The Van Deemen Mine property consists of five unpatented lode
mining claims totalling approximately 100 acres acquired through a
lease agreement with La Cuesta International, Inc. in April of
2011. The Company has also located 18 unpatented lode claims
in the area surrounding the Van Deemen Mine, which have been staked
and recorded with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the Mohave
County Recorder.
A check of the historic resource by Carroll and Metzler shows
good agreement of the reported 34,000 ounces of near surface gold
with grades ranging from 1-3 grams per ton. The purpose of the
report was to demonstrate that the historical exploration data
confirm that the project merits additional work to verify previous
defined mineralization.
The next phase of the project involves reassay of existing pulps
to confirm grade as well as representative samples to run column
tests to determine leach characteristics of the ore types. Metzler
and Carroll are actively working with Bureau of Land Management
("BLM") and other regulatory agencies to obtain the required
permits.
The Company is excited to move the Van Demeen towards production
and will be hosting a new website with substantial geological
information, resumes on the new management team, and regular
updates. The new website and updated financials filed on OTCMarkets
will be accomplished shortly.
