US Airways Group Inc. (LCC) said Wednesday that it would record a special gain of around $74 million in the third quarter as part of a complex swap of airport takeoff and landing slots and route rights with Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL).
The deal netted US Airways $147 million, with $73 million recorded in its first quarter earnings.
US Airways also said it was retiring its remaining Boeing Co. (BA) 737-300 jets in favor of larger Airbus A321s.
