The U.S. Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security is investigating how a NetApp Inc. (NTAP) storage system was used for an Internet-surveillance system built last year for Syria's government, Bloomberg News reported Friday.
NetApp, meanwhile, was conducting an internal review into the matter. A spokeswoman for the company declined to comment on the government investigation to Bloomberg.
