The Federal Trade Commission has hired Beth Wilkinson to lead its antitrust investigation of Google Inc. (GOOG), The New York Times reported Thursday.
Wilkinson, a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, is a former assistant U.S. attorney.
FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz said in a meeting with reporters that "in an important case, you want to do a thorough investigation."
