TeliaSonera AB (TLSN.SK), the Swedish telecom operator, Thursday reported a fall in first quarter net profit from a year earlier, partly due to lower contributions from MegaFon and Turkcell, while revenue rose as its Eurasian operations continued to grow at a double-digit pace.
-1Q revenue at SEK25.69 billion, up from SEK24.84 billion in 1Q 2011.
-Analysts had expected net sales at SEK25.51 billion.
-1Q Ebitda at SEK8.82 billion, down from SEK8.89 billion in 1Q 2011.
-Analysts had expected Ebitda at SEK8.96 billion.
-1Q net profit at SEK3.91 billion, down from SEK4.65 billion in 1Q 2011.
-Analysts had expected net profit at SEK4.17 billion.
-Teliasonera reiterated its previous outlook for 2012, expecting organic growth of between 1% and 2%, Ebitda-margin in line with last year and capex-to-sales ratio of 13%-14%.
-TeliaSonera repeated that discussions are ongoing regarding future ownership and governance of OAO MegaFon between TeliaSonera, AF Telecom and Altimo.
-During 1Q, the number of subscriptions increased by 1.2 million in TeliaSonera's consolidated companies and by 1.1 million in its associated companies.
-The total number of subscriptions was 172.4 million.
-TeliaSonera's income from Turkcell decreased to SEK351 million, from SEK509 million the same quarter last year.
-TeliaSonera's income from Megafon decreased to SEK673 million, from SEK1.09 billion the same quarter last year.
-TeliaSonera's shares closed at SEK48.80 Wednesday.
