A federal judge ruled last month that Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) unit Cordis Corp. owes more than $40 million to Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX) for infringing a patent for coronary stents, Bloomberg News reported Monday.
Boston Scientific was awarded $20 million in a jury trial in May 2011, but U.S. District Judge Sue Robinson said in a March 13 opinion that Cordis owed it twice as much, according to Bloomberg.
Cordis filed an appeal April 10, Bloomberg reported, citing court records.
