TeliaSonera AB (TLSN.SK), the Swedish telecommunications company, Wednesday said net profit decreased to SEK4.86 billion from SEK5.99 billion the same quarter last year, as lower contributions from affiliates and higher finance costs weighed on the result.
-TeliaSonera said its outlook for 2011 remains unchanged.
-Growth in net sales in local currencies and excluding acquisitions and disposals is expected to be around 3% in 2011.
-Also, the company expects its addressable cost base in 2011 to decline compared with 2010 and said it sees 2011 operating margin improving compared with last year.
-3Q net sales were SEK26.61 billion, down from SEK26.87 the same quarter last year.
-Analysts expected 3Q net sales at SEK26.67 billion.
-3Q operating profit (Ebitda excluding non-recurring items) was SEK9.80 billion, up from SEK9.76 billion the same quarter last year.
-Analysts expected 3Q operating profit at SEK9.71 billion.
-3Q Ebitda-margin was 36.8%, up from 36.3% the same quarter last year.
-In 3Q the number of subscriptions grew by 1.3 million in the consolidated operations and by 3.7 million in the associated companies.
-The total number of subscriptions was 164.4 million.
-Capex in 3Q increased to SEK3.63 billion, from SEK2.94 billion the same quarter last year.
-Income from associated companies and joint ventures was SEK1.41 billion, down from SEK2.08 billion the same quarter last year.
-Regarding the ongoing dispute over Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. (TCELL.IS) control, TeliaSonera said "steps in the right direction" have been taken and that increasing the number of independent board members will resolve the current deadlock.
-Tuesday shares in TeliaSonera closed at SEK46.10.
