Astronics Corp. (ATRO) said Sunday that Honda Aircraft Co. has chosen it to supply power and heat-control installations for the HondaJet advanced light business jet.
The East Aurora, N.Y., company added that it will provide its EmPOWER System and its Windshield Heat Controller as standard installations on the HondaJet, Honda Motor Co.'s (HMC, 7267.TO) first commercial aircraft.
"The HondaJet is an efficient, fast and technologically advanced aircraft and we are extremely pleased to have our power solutions on this innovative aircraft. We believe our unique product solutions, superior design and responsive service were drivers of Honda's selection of Astronics," said Astronics President and Chief Executive Peter J. Gundermann in a statement.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The aircraft is scheduled for first delivery in 2012.
