Sina Corp. - Ordinary Shares (MM) (NASDAQ:SINA)
Historical Stock Chart
5 Years : From Jul 2012 to Jul 2017
Chinese Internet portal operator Sina Corp. (SINA) has dropped Google Inc.'s (GOOG) search service from its website and is now using its own search technology, Liu Qi, vice general manager of Sina's marketing department, said Monday.
Sina made the change this month as its contract with Google ended, Liu said.
The U.S. company, which last year moved its mainland China search service to Hong Kong due to concerns about hacking and censorship, said earlier it would phase out censored search deals with its Chinese partners.
The search bar on the front page of Sina's portal now returns results generated by Sina's search technology, sorted under categories such as news, blogs and music.
