Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com) (OTCBB: UNDT), a provider of early detection technologies for the Homeland Security market, reported today that it has entered into an agreement with Tamar Security Technologies Limited, whereby it now offers advanced explosives and improvised explosive device (IED) simulants to the US Security Market. This move is part of the Company's dedication to being a complete CBRNE security firm.

The IED threat has garnered recent attention with the news that Al-Qaeda had actually been able to smuggle explosives onto aircrafts in printer cartridges. UNDT's new IED simulants can be used to train guards on how to spot components of explosives such as detonators.

These highly advanced explosive simulants are specifically for training purposes. They closely simulate the actual explosives, accessories and related items, providing an efficient and realistic training program. The various items allow trainees to get a feel for the actual items, and also to train in detection via hand search and a variety of other detection techniques. The simulants comprise precise reproductions of a variety of explosive materials in form, color, texture and weight.

Tamar (www.tamar-explosives.com) is a certified service provider for the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Its team of experts also carries out research, laboratory trials, data collection and database development for some of the world's leading firms and security agencies.

In addition, Tamar Security has developed various accessories with the aim of further enhancing training effectiveness. These include close reproductions of items that are utilized in conjunction with explosives, such as a variety of detonators and detonation cords, as well as pipe bombs, suicide bomber belts and hand grenades. Tamar has also developed a wide variety of simulated IEDs. The IEDs cover various disciplines and training purposes (aviation security training, detection of letter and parcel bombs, etc.).

"We believe that Guards are not sufficiently trained in many cases to detect such types of IEDs. In fact, GAO investigators were able to penetrate Federal Buildings with components which could have been put together to create explosives. We believe that this can be a tool to help those we have charged with our safety. This is a training tool to combat one of the most lethal weapons in a terrorists' arsenal: the IED," said Jacques Tizabi, CEO of Universal Detection Technology.
