New York & Co. (NWY) has appointed veteran fashion design director David Witkewicz as its executive vice president for design, continuing a series of personnel changes for the specialty retailer.
The appointment is the third recent executive change for the women's clothing retailer, having appointed Eran Cohen as its chief marketing officer and Michele Parsons as executive vice president of merchandising.
Most recently, Witkewicz served as vice president of design for Coach Inc. (COH). He also worked for Target Corp. (TGT) as design director of the retailer's women's ready-to-wear section.
Witkewicz also held leading design posts with Oscar de la Renta, Saks Inc. (SKS) and Jones New York. Earlier in his career he launched A.V. Sport for Adrienne Vittadini and held design roles with Perry Ellis, Ann Taylor and Wilke Rodriguez.
The women's apparel seller this month gave an upbeat forecast for its fiscal fourth quarter, citing better same-store sales and margins. The company has struggled recently, posting mostly losses.
