Swedish private equity firms Ratos AB (RATO-B.SK) and IK Investment Partners AB Thursday said they have reached a deal to sell plastic packaging maker Superfos Industries A/S to RPC Group PLC (RPC.LN) for approximately EUR200 million, resulting in an exit loss of 70 million Swedish kronor ($10.3 million) for Ratos.

Denmark-based Superfos makes injection moulded open-top plastic packaging products for the food, paint and chemical industries.

Ratos and IK Investment Partners bought three divisions of Superfos from U.S. company Ashland Inc. (ASH) in 1999 and have invested a total of SEK471 million in the company.

Ratos owns 33% while IK Investment Partners holds 66% in the company. Ratos's share of the selling price amounts to EUR64 million.

During the 11 years Ratos has owned Superfos, it has generated an average annual return of about 2%. Ratos has an average annual return target of above 20% for all of its investments.
