Sina Corp. (SINA) and a Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) joint venture that operates the U.S. company's Internet services in China will allow users of Sina's microblog service and Microsoft's instant-messaging program to link their accounts on both services, the companies said Thursday.
Users will be able to have their messages on Sina's microblog service posted automatically on their Windows Live Messenger account, and log into Sina's microblog service with their Microsoft instant-messaging account name, Sina and Shanghai MSN Network Communications Technology Co., also called MSN China, said in a statement.
Users of Microsoft's Windows Live Spaces blogging service in mainland China will also be able to transfer all content from there to Sina's blogging service, the statement said.
Shanghai MSN Network Communications Technology is a joint venture between Microsoft and Shanghai Alliance Investment Ltd.
