Universal Delivery Solutions (UDS) has initiated the process of recruiting up to 80% of system franchisees to support its 888-SUB-TO-GO service. The company's plan is to maximize availability of its catering event services by enrolling certified catering franchisees to serve practically every address in the U.S. By the end of 2011 expansion into the Canadian system is anticipated, based on successes in the lower 48 states. The total system has more than 23,000 franchises in the U.S. and, even accounting for higher restaurant density in the larger metropolitan markets, it covers virtually every community of any reasonable size. The certification process requires cooperation from the franchise world headquarters in Connecticut, and with Development Agents in 160 different territories.

"Now, every day we are adding new locations to the network and expect to have more than 2,500 restaurants by the end of 2010," Mr. Coblin added. "We are confident that several thousand more locations will be enrolled in 2011, and the rest by mid-year 2012. Of course, we want to add the Canadian participants as soon as possible."
